Too bad I can't rent it and a flight crew for $12,000 and log an hour of dual!
After doing that my kids will be $36M short of buying it after SWMBO kills me for spending 2 Disney trips on an hour of flying!

Did SWMBO pay you to say that? Is that her cauldron you are stirring?

That 767 was already a corporate bird, not sure what that “VIP Completions” outfit is so proud of.

You are correct, they are the same type rating, but they do not fly the same. The hydraulically assisted flight controls on the 767 allow you to fly it with your index finger and thumb, the 757 is stiffer and heavier to fly. The deer stand is the jumpseat on the 757. It’s way up in the air and jammed behind the captain seat…it sucks, I’m 6’4” and my feet dangle off it.
The 767-300er is a nice jet. It can be a little tricky to land the first couple times, but once you figure it out is pretty nice to fly.
The 757-200 is a beast! It’s way over powered, and is docile and easy to fly. You can not make a bad landing in one, and It stops on a dime. Maybe the best airliner ever built in my opinion.
The 767-200 is kind of the dump truck of the family. I didn’t really like it, but it was mostly because it had really grabby brakes. It flew okay.
As type ratings go, the craziest type is the DC9. It covers all the DC9’s, the MD80’s, MD90, and the 717. There is almost nothing common as you go from one to the other. The DC9 is all steam gages, the 717 has the same, all glass, flight deck set up as the MD11, and an Airbus style FMS.

Yes, they both fly similar. The 757 is harder to slow down, even with the poor planning devices out. TR's raise the nose on the 767-300's, slam it down on the 757's. Our 767's are much larger inside than the 757's. Four jumpseaters in the 757 is a nightmare, but in the 767 is completely tolerable, especially if we have the bunks on board. I flew one with two of us yesterday and we were constantly tripping over %#$@. The 767 has adequate storage space. Our 767's are much quieter than the 757's as they have had a mod done on the air conditioning system.
Otherwise, flying wise, meh, the autopilot buttons feel the same either way.

Strip out the electronics & engines, and the 717 is a DC-9-30. It's got the same structure and wing, same fuel system, the same old O2 bottle behind the FO and the same weird compass setup you have to view in a mirror. But what they did do is keep all the good (about 80%) and toss in the MD-11 automation. I love the airplane and will be on it until they retire them. Best, Rich

I also have a ton of time in that DC9 series of aircraft. I think this is pretty different, but y'all be the judge.

You can strip out all the avionics in a 1970 172 and replace it with Garmin glass, but it's still a 172.
Best, Rich
