Anyone know the add-on cost for this option? Google doesn’t seem to

I remember reading an AOPA article in the last year or so and it mentioned it was a 50 AMU option if my memory serves. That might've been the cost when it was first offered, though. I remember thinking that was way higher than it ought to be, but apparently there are plenty of buyers.

Found it... 45 AMU in 2002:

Probably a lot higher now.

well, I seem to recall reading something recent indicating that the pilot door was no longer an option but instead standard equipment.

I’ll see if I can find that reference.

I would guess still an option to remove or not have built. Here is 2019 options list for TBM940.

It’s standard, and no longer an option. I have a 960 on order.

I would certainly not want to fly a TBM without it.

The door is standard eqt.
Having used it- it will spoil you and I never want to fly another plane without one.

I have a TBM900 and would not want one without the pilot door.

Standard equipment.
You can always order it without and you will get a discount but I wouldn’t.
I wouldn’t own a TBM without it.
