I would guess still an option to remove or not have built. Here is 2019 options list for TBM940.

It’s standard, and no longer an option. I have a 960 on order.

I would certainly not want to fly a TBM without it.

Standard equipment. You can always order it without and you will get a discount but I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t own a TBM without it.
