Just tired of the bullshit. Now I know why the guy I bought my plane from told me very early in my first call that I wasn't a serious buyer. It was really weird because it was out of left field. I thought, what did I say wrong to this guy. I bought the plane less than a week later. Now I know what it was. It was because of a bunch of bullshit Meanwhile there are 17 models of my plane for sale, at least one still has an add up. Last Friday 20 and 25 when I listed. 70+ this time last year.

Hopefully the buyer didn't disassemble your aircraft and leave it sitting in a hangar when they decided to back out. Hopefully you had a strong pre-buy contract and can litigate the S* out of them in your home town/county.

The sole "point" seems to be "buyers are BS" BTDT and it is a trying process. Buyers purporting to be buyers (but they don't have cash and can't qualify for a loan), tire kickers, low ballers, and the list goes on. All buyers are not definitely not BS. However, there are wanna-be's and time suckers that a professional earns his money dealing with. BTW - some sellers are equally inept. Buying or selling a legacy plane is a chore.

Ryan, when you put something like this on BT, you really should tell the rest of the story. But let me take a stab at it. I'm going to guess the following happened, but it is strictly conjecture. You received a purchase offer on your plane that you decided to accept, contingent on a pre-buy inspection. The plane went to a shop you both agreed on for said pre-buy, and some air-worthiness issues showed up. Now the buyer is backing out of the purchase and you are left making some of these repairs as they were deemed airworthy items. I'm just guessing here, so maybe you could tell us "the rest of the story" as Paul Harvey was famous for saying. I just went through a trying ordeal purchasing an airplane, from sellers who lied, misrepresented and strung me along on planes they really were not ready to sell, and I had a broker representing my interests. So, when you fling out terms like "maggots", you should expect a little blowback. Chris C

I've bought and sold many things on BT. Generally go ahead and send the item assuming the payment will come, and it always has. When I've bought he sellers have been equally amenable.
I've had nothing but good experiences with BT folks.

I like the “I’m calling about your airplane for my boss” routine on a $20,000 airplane.
Can it be shipped to “Name that third world country” I’ll pay extra to have it crated
Nobody seems to be able to fly what they are purchasing. “Oh I’m only a student” looking at Piper Saratoga or Bonanza
My favorite is the deadbeat back tiedown owner who after 10 years of no tiedown payment and longer of not flying puts their moldy corroded timed out IO-346 Musketeer on eBay. It’s purchased by non english speaking people who were told by the seller it just needs a “Quick annual”. When they find out it needs a lot more than that they put it back on eBay and same story to next cheap buyer. And this cycle continues on and on with no end while you can never get the airplane off the field or get paid for back rent. Meanwhile it gets in worse and worse condition. Endless calls to the shop about the sweet deal on the field and can it get an annual, prebuy or ferry permit. Multiple different odd blacked out Lexus with out of state plates will circle it at odd times of the night then leave.
People calling trying to broker the sale of an airplane on the field without ever meeting the owner or seeing the airplane. Also buyers who flip and want to resell without ever seeing the airplane in person. Had a guy trying this with Aeronca Champs and had never soloed at taildragger.
