What area are you flying in? I understand they are only officially called for in extremely low temps but I’ve been tempted to track down a set for my 182 to keep the oil temp up in the winter.

This week the daily high temperatures have been around -25F. The other day we were completing the annual and was running it up it kept stumbling during acceleration. We had noticed that before but not to the same extent as it wasn’t that cold. My mechanic researched it and found that the intake on the 470 doesn’t atomize the fuel as efficiently as it does on the Lycomings. These kits are hard to come by so I was hoping to get a template and make the dxf file available for others to have waterjet cut the pieces. Doug

That is cold! Much colder than I have ever experienced. Good luck with your search.

Doug, I fly a C185F. FWIW, Most dont use them. Just block the oil cooler and the oil will stay warmer. If you block the intake, the back cylinders will get too warm. Username Protected wrote: Does anyone have a Winterization Kit for the cowl openings of C182 L,M or N? I believe it is Kit AK182-139E. If so would you be able to trace the outline of the three parts and send them to me? I would them have the parts waterjet cut.
Thanks
Doug

Marc, I don’t really want to reduce the air to cylinders I’m looking for the piece that is mounted over the air filter as shown below. Doug
