Poor Citations, always taking it about the rear from Lear drivers............

At least I don't have to declare a fuel emergency at the hold short line....

Neither do we.........anymore........ .. We donated our last 20 series to the Tech campus down at your field a few years ago......man, what a hoot that thing was to fly! Can't count how many times I was told to ask for an off-course climb in that beastie. And I'll never, ever, forget the "direct to filed altitude" takeoffs when we were light.......exhilarating.........

Yeah, that was the price you pay in a 20 series Lear, but the price of flying a rocket ship; priceless.

Re fuel, a common trip we had was taking the boss home on Fridays from Houston to Wichita Falls. Sometimes we took the Citation and other times we took the Lear. Interestingly, they both burned the same amount of trip fuel, but the Lear did the trip in .2 hours quicker, so I guess if you have time to spare, take a Citation. :D

Mach 0.73 is fast enough for me. Going faster requires getting complex like swept wings.

And when I get there, I can land in less than 2500 ft. Nice!

That's essentially why we had the 501. We could get into and out of strips close to our drilling rigs that we couldn't with the Lear 35.

All kidding aside, it's a 501 that I would like to have if I won Powerball. :D

Congrats Joe

Amazing birds got my 501sp Eagle II from Tarver. Great guy that knows his stuff. It’s so helpful to buy a plane from someone that flys and operates that model. I am always texting or calling Michael with a question and he always helps me out. So many new things to learn with these jets.

Enjoy!!

Mike

Congratulations on buying a great Bird!

What a great bird to fly

I have looked as we all do, but Nothing will do what the 501 will do caring 8 (2-6) passengers' weight and full fuel with the range and the just solid airplane

you can buy allot of fuel with the price savings and still come out on top

just wife and I 95+% of time

Thank you all. It has been great so far. Looking forward to having enough hours to fly single pilot. (Insurance. About 12 hours to go.)

58P coming on the market in January.

58p is a good stepping stone to a Citation. IMO.

That was the way I went anyhow.

Enjoy!

Joe

Speaking of insurance and hours is there any magic number the insurance companies want/like?

Congrats, Joe!

BTW was looking at regulations regarding "SIC required" placed on the CE-500 type rating and found this FWIW:
