Well this sounds awesome. A giant Honda jet with transcontinental range. For 5.4mm?!?!?!

They would sell a lot of these.

$5.4 is for the existing refresh of the original model. The 2600 price has not been announced yet. A friend of mine has been working on it but wouldn't share many details other than the range.

Yeah, price isn't going to be $5.4. At least double that.

Sounds nice though! I was playing with performance numbers for the current HondaJet and it seems fairly fast and efficient. Not great on runway performance is the downside.

Wonder if it will have a 20 knot crosswind limitation as well.

It’s been an open secret that HondaJet has been working on a longer-range jet for some time, so it’s nice to see this announcement. They needed to leverage off their large initial investment at some point.

Will be interesting to get the details, including price, when available. But I do expect the cabin will be very nice if the current HJs are any indication …

I hope the cross section is bigger. I'm 6' and I could not comfortably sit in the seat without tilting my head inboard.

Glad to hear they are doing this.
I know they already have some NDA Pre-sold versions.

The owners rave about the integrity of the company.

Excited for them.

Love the range and single pilot operation. Could this be the SJ30 that never was?

So nice to see Textron getting some heat. Citation adds USB ports at each seat. Honda introduces transcon range.

FL470 must give some sparkling efficiency.

For the HondaJet 2600, the fuselage will be more oval-shaped, increasing headroom and shoulder space at each seat. The cabin interior measures 62.5 inches high from the dropped aisle to the ceiling, and 61 inches wide, 4.5 inches taller and one inch wider than the HA-420’s cabin.

They’ve announced the range but not the engines. That seems odd. Does GE have an engine that would work?

Honda makes engines, which is unusual for an airframe maker. The implication is that they will build one to suit. Would need to be in the 3500 lbf class based on weight/size.

If Honda doesn't build an engine for it, the only existing engine that really fits is a Williams FJ44-4, like CJ4 and PC-24 use.

The definitely have the Phenom 300 market as their bullseye. The divan interior is a direct copy of the P300's most popular configuration. If they can actually realize the +600nm range, 20% efficiency, and deliver for $10M they will give Embraer a run for their money.

I'll believe it when I see it.
