I wonder what the acceleration vs. frequency plot would look like. Not too unlike a 310 I suspect. Sorry....nerded out there for a sec..... Yeah, somehow when I look at the Bird of Prey, a Cessna 310 doesn't come to mind.

I'm a real Star Trek fan, and muse at the fact that laymen fans just accept the fact that the space fighter craft need wings, but then again maybe the Klingon's home planet has an atmosphere and they haven't mastered gravity.. I think it's great that 90 year old William Shatner, Captain Kirk, will really fly to the edge of space October 12 on Blue Origin's spacecraft New Sheppard. In the 70's I flew up to Truckee airport, and came around the corner of a hangar and had a face tp face encounter with Leonard Nimoy, and had a brief pleasant conversation with him.

Hey! It could happen!
Some days, I sit in the cockpit with my grandson and we make motor noises together.

Tom Paris wanted dynametric tailfins on the Delta Flyer. Just for the "look". Tuvok, overruled him. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Dy ... ilfins.jpg

I think it was Babylon 5 that was the first to introduce true Newtonian physics to space combat, at least for mere Earthlings (other species had more advanced tech). The Starfury fighter is held up as an example how to do a “true” fighter. Of course, reality is that fighters probably don’t have a role in space due to a host of reasons. “The Expanse” has a much more realistic view of Newtonian space combat with a relatively small amount of hand waving and plot armor. Best, Rich
