Has anyone hit any of the stops on this tour and care to share your experience?

I was thinking of going to the Raleigh stop next month with my wife so we can poke around a few different models. Seems like the “boat show” for airplanes, which sounds like fun.

Cheers,
Brad Hescock

I went to the one in a Scottsdale maybe a year ago?? Exactly as you described, lots of new models you could actually sit in. Cirrus had several, Epic had theirs, Icon, the ones that made the Piper LSA now under their own brand,it was a good day.

Brad,
I went to the one in Seattle at Boing Field. The ABS Service Clinic happened to be at AvStar in Puyallup that same weekend. There were a lot of jets there. Cirrus had an SR22T and their jet, Piper had an M600, there was a new Cessna single and a DA62. Lots of turbines and business jets. I think an Icon too. Nice seeing the airplanes, but I wouldn't make a special trip to go to the expo alone. As a warning, if you're considering buying a new airplane, seeing them in person may make you pull the trigger!

I went to the one in Sanford, south of Raleigh last year. Not crowded like Lakeland or Oshkosh. You can look, touch, ask the sales people questions and sit in the airplanes without being hurried along. If they have the airplanes you want to see, go.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems like a good way to check out a bunch of different airframes.

I went to Raleigh one last year. KTTA. I wanted to see new Epic. They did not show.

Honda Jet was there, Piper M600, Diamond and TBM 940. The rest not worth the trip. I would not go again.

I went to the one at White Plains a couple of weeks ago. There were fewer planes there than 2 years ago. There was a good side presentation put on by the Westchester Aviation Assn about acquisition and ownership.

I think the best way to make use of a show like this is to decide what you're interested in before you go, make sure that what you want to look at is there, and have a list of specific questions for the sales/demo people.

It's fun just to poke around new airplanes, but more fun to get specific info and try things on for size.

As of four months ago, Textron-beech, Cessna and Embraer had made a decision to skip the expo this year—maybe that has changed. The west coast show was missing the citation M2, phenoms, and King Airs/Baron. Hopefully they will be back soon.

The others were well represented. The PC24 is impressive up close.
Cirrus, Epic, and icon were getting most of the attention from the crowds.
