I am getting some new radios installed in my retirement a 172G w/ Lycon conversion of Lycoming O360A1A and Hartzell constant speed prop. Installing new plastic panel covers and one has a placard that reads "Avoid Continuous Operation Between 2000 and 2250 RPM" Wondered if anyone is familiar with this Placard? Thought it might have been for the Continental O300 previously installed. I looked through the Lycoming power charts for the O360A and found no caution about this RPM zone.
Appreciate any thoughts on the subject, posted on Cessna Pilots Association but not many readers left on that forum now I suppose and no help.

I believe some installations of 180 have rom restriction. Check Airplains website.

Thanks for the replies, great to have the resources to answer my questions. I was able to find the STC on line and sure enough it is a required Placard of the STC. Questions resolved, Placard goes back on.

Have similar placard on my Alcon conversion 180/csp. I think it might be an engine/prop restriction as well, not just for Alcon conversions.

I had a similar placard on my 200 HP Lycoming IO360A Cardinal... installed the Hartzell scimitar composite prop, and voila, no more placard. Only cost $15,000 to get rid of that placard... The composite scimitar prop climbs about 100 FPM better, and cruises a couple knots faster. And it moves 20 pounds off the nose, which is important for nose-heavy turbo Cardinals. So there were other advantages, besides removing the placard. Paul

Did Air Plains have a Hartzell CSP prop?

I've seen this placard on several different aircraft with IO-360's and constant speed props. It has to do with harmonics between the engine and prop in that rpm range. Mooney M20's in particular come to mind.

I've seen similar restrictions in numerous (I)O-360 PLUS 2-blade constant speed prop equipped aircraft.
