I think that a G-IV SP would have a wet footprint on that trip, but as I said, a G-V could do it quite easily. Should not be a problem.

I remember working out the numbers for a G-V to go from BUR to Hawaii and with much less than full fuel, they could have gone to PHNL done a touch and go and come back to BUR without a wet footprint.

The biggest annoyance I have is the darn hydraulic pump (only for the brakes) sits right under the front of the cabin, almost below the first row of seats. It’s loud and cycles quite often. Not a very well thought out design.

I agree! What SN are you flying? I flew as a passenger in MSN 102 and the pump noise was terrible, of course it’s only a factor when the gear is down, but the pump isn’t your typical Pilatus well thought out design. I recently flew SIC in a newer SN and the pump seemed much quieter (but I was in the front the whole time) so I don’t know if it was a design change or because I was up front.

I fly #136. Can’t compare it to others as it’s the only one I’ve ever flown.

So we are 13 months since the previous post.
Have we learned how to depart quietly in a PC-24?

Reduced power?
Less flap?
Steeper or more shallow climb?

A few operators posted the following procedures work.

General noise abatement guidelines specifically for KSMO below:

1. Begin with a static takeoff with 80% power and reach full power quickly after brake release.
2. Use caution: to not hold on the runway with full power too long as you may trip the noise sensor that is behind you.
3. At Vr, affirmatively rotate and maintain V2 +10
4. Retract the gear.
5. At the end of the runway, the PM will call the position and the PF will positively lower the nose and quickly reduce power to approximately 60% N1 and maintain LEVEL OFF attitude at the boundary of the airport with 60% power setting followed by;
6. Maintain a minimum climb rate and the Reduced power setting until reaching the shore line.
7. Retract the flaps and continue a normal departure once past the shoreline.

Evidently some were getting nasty letters but this procedure seems to be working.

The new HondaJet 2600 should be able to do it in ideal conditions, at least from CA.
