Sorry this is probably behind a paywall, I went to Bloomberg site and it too was paywall. This is a sad story of the rise and fall of Aerovanti. I searched BT and was surprised no one has mentioned this company here.

Here's another story. The guy sounds like the aviation version of Sam Bankman-Fried.

The founder originally started the company with his father as the Chief Pilot. His father, Steve, was former Air Force and was an American Airlines pilot. Things even got bad between the founder and his father, with the founder writing an "all company" email that "NO ONE IS TO CONTACT Steve Harr anymore for any reason".

I liken this guy more to Bernie Madoff than SBF. But whoever he reminds you of, be glad you didn't give him any money!

Had to laugh at the quote in the article saying that "private jet business is immensely lucrative". :D

Show me a charter or jet share company that isn't in the red or failing. I'd rather start 10000 restaurants than run a jet share or charter company.

I listened to their pitch for owners for about 10 minute as a favor to someone. An obvious 134.5 operation I wanted no part of. Not surprised how it’s turning out. Creativity in business is essential. But where rules and laws exist that’s not the place to do it.
