Sat, no annuals, locals were sure it would leave on a truck and parted out. 2 new rams, brand new props, driven on a truck and hung in place by TAS. Ferried out, 6 more months at TAS getting strakes, speed breaks, and full Monte maintenance. Temple Avionics is putting in 600, 2 750s, new radar. New interior coming this summer… new paint by Aerosmith in September. But wow…are we gonna enjoy it for a long time. Is that Parnelli Jones previous 421?

No doubt money spent on aviation is well spent . Don’t regret a dime of it .

I do not think prices will go back to post-Covid levels (ever)
I am not saying there will magically be abundant inventory.
I am saying that at least over the next few months we may see some sanity return to the aircraft market. Chip, is this because people are sensing peak market and saying, I better get out while the getting is good? I've been noticing this in the real estate market. With interest rates going up, all of sudden lots of stuff appearing on the market. My assertion is, those that have been waiting on the sideline are jumping in. The only problem is, the other sideline is starting to smell blood in the water and may start holding out for lower prices. Based on my recent airline travels and news of continued route reductions, there is nothing in 121 that is drawing me back to fly them more than I have to. I think there is a fundamental shift to more GA like we saw in the 70's with 55 mph mandated laws and time expensive hop scotch airline service. I will also agree with the Post COVID pricing. A buddy and I are looking at used surf boats. We have come to the conclusion that the $50k boat is now $70k and the $70k is now $100k, etc. A new plateau has been established. It would take an '08 recession and not a normal recession to knock everything down. And that wouldn't be good for anyone.

I think you're right on there. Everyone trying to cash out for as much as possible at the last minute (real estate and airplanes and boats).
I've been in the surf boat world for years now and have watched prices go through the roof, I don't see them coming down too much just like airplanes, doesn't look good for a manufacturer to backpedal on pricing and the used market follows the new boat(or plane) pricing.

I’ve been in the market (dabbling and patiently) for both. I have an old Supra that my wife really likes, and I’ve got it sorted out. I think we’ll be doing the interior upgrades instead of buying a new boat, like you said, the $50k boat is now $70k. We enjoy it and could afford to upgrade to a newer boat with more features but I don’t want a bunch of money tied up into something I only have 4-5 months of use annually. Time will tell with the airplane shopping, her requirements are higher than mine, I just want wings, and a windshield.

Could the correction be looming?
Correlation != Causation - However, today two different plane brokers contacted me today, one via email, and one called. I was in a meeting so didn't get to chat, but thought, hrmm that was weird. Market might be changing.
