I get it’s IFR legal, but are you allowed to actually hand fly it in those conditions? For some reason I thought heli in IFR was only on the ap. That doesn’t pass logic test though.

Does the SAS system make it as easy to fly In the soup as an airplane?

AP and SAS must function to fly IFR but there’s nothing that says you must use AP. Yes, it’s as stable as an airplane.

I think he has figured out how to make it all work at a profit while thumbing his nose at the BT Elite. Next he will be parting one out. Good on you Michael!

Wow. So cool. What’s it cost per year to fly one of these? Absolutely stunning looking machine.

Living the dream. Did you land at places that required owner permission?

Kudos to the manager. So easy to say no.

It’s a two family machine. The autopilot and the extra engine changes your usage flying over water! Apparently flies great inverted

However much snowed under paperwork and inspection intervals and life limited parts my Citation is, I don't want to even think what those are like for a turbine twin IFR capable retract helicopter.

There has to be a day of reckoning with thing and the maintenance shop.

I also don't want to think about the insurance. Helicopters seem to populate the accident rolls and get a lot of ADs.

10000% true. It basically has annual inspections (so in that regard it’s much easier than a citation) and 1500 hours remaining on the major bits. But yes, when stuff starts timing out, it has parts prices that would make a billionaire blush. It’s going in the trash can at that point.

Just paint it dark olive drab and I doubt anyone will give you a problem.

What, no valet parking for your helicopter at the restaurant?

Seriously, mucho congrats Mike. What a blast!
