I took my PPL check ride in one of these 54 yrs ago.
One comes up every five or six years. So i am going out with one.

I'm saying that picture is a plane(plain) Jane 172, not a T-41.
Nice paint job though.

cowl and prop aren't right.... right?

That is a T-41c from the AIR force Academy, see logo on tail. I lesrned in an academy flying club T-41B

I was offered anout 30% more for the helio than i thought it worth.
So i kep nearly half and get a good short field performer. I cannot and may not ever pass the eye tedt. So i let the helio go.

The first plane i owned was a 215 hp franklin powered 172
It was a climbing star.
