Last october, I went with a friend to pick up a brand new SR22T and fly it home to the bay area.

With the two of us (both bigger guys over 6') and bags, we had to ship a lot of the kitsch they give you with a new plane rather than take it.

The TKS fluid weighs a good bit as well, and of course, it is filled to capacity at the delivery center.

So we had to manage our fuel loads between legs. Totally do-able. But it wasn't "fill-er up" on our stops.

I don't have the numbers on me, but they might be in a notebook somewhere.

It burns a bit more and flies a bit slower than I'm used to in the Columbia 400. I manage fuel in my plane all the time and rarely take off at gross virtually never with full tanks. I'm more limited by landing weight than gross weight and I like to reach landing weight as early as reasonable in a flight. That and time between restrooms.

I’ve also been thinking about a turbo Cirrus.
The one to find IMO is a G5 without TKS. 1200 (almost?) useful load.
I have no desire to fly a piston single in known ice conditions.

Useful load on the SR22T we had for a while was 1,017 lbs.
It had TKS & AC.

The SR22T G5 w/FIKI I fly is 2,496 empty, so 1,104 useful. By comparison the SR22 G5 NA without FIKI is about 140lbs lighter. Both have A/C.
