They're ugly as hell, but there's something so charming about that utilitarian STOL performance. His rwy is tiny!

PS. Make sure you watch his pitch black night landing at end of clip. Yikes.

They are certainly ugly, but I've heard they're on the easier end of the build difficulty spectrum.

The 701 is too small for me. I can only deal with the 750. They are quite nice airplanes, although slooooow.

With the new nosewheel Carbon Cub and its enthusiastic acceptance by aviation “influencers,” it’s very possible that some Cool Kids will start flying tricycle gear airplanes. That could really benefit Zenith, with its much lower cost.

Where I come out is that if you're going for a STOL-like plane, you want crazy STOL performance, right? No real point in having "a little STOL" and then a 10kts higher cruise speed.

Seems like the 701 and the Highlander are the clear winners in extreme STOL from YouTube clips. Maybe the higher powered Carbon Cub is up there, too.

There was a twin engine STOL plane (only its builder could love the looks of), but it had some extreme performance. Really cool, wonder what happened to it?

I'm probably the only one but I don't think they're ugly at all... I think they're neat looking airplanes. Something about the design really appeals to me. I'd love to build a Super Duty some day.

That guy doesn't have the best decision making, it seems.

I don't see this ending well.

Are you opposed to tandem seating? Nothing beats the Zlin Norden right now in my opinion and kits will be made available at some point.

Something makes me think Adam F is not daunted by building anything! Judging by some of the other threads he’s initiated, I’m guessing I’m not the only that’s been inspired by him.

Jon is my flying partner. I was the first to land at his strip other than him....didn’t know him and he didn’t know I was incoming. :woot:
We have become pretty good friends and have done several long trips together. He will be flying the STOL demo at KOSH. The 701 is pretty small. With his 130hp UL it is a performer.
