Kidding only but why the large power lever split?
The power is the same but levers off. We are still trying to dial things in and adjusting the fixed wastegate on left. May need turbo on left. This plane has been flying for 2 years after parked for 23 years. Original 1900 hour engines. Have spare engines ready to install but so far these are still going. Been in the family since 1979 and 300 hours. Michael

Hey guys, thanks a ton for the replies. What's with all the hate for the 530W? I can pick one up for about $6k right now, and Garmin still supports them. A new IFD 540 is $14k, and GTN 750XI is $18k. The plan is to fly the 530W until it doesn't work anymore and then upgrade to an IFD 540; my assumption is by then the 540 will drop in price once it's successor comes out. The IFD 540 is essentially a slide in replacement for a 530W, so no installation would be required. Do the new boxes really provide that much more capability, or is it just an improved interface? I'm also a guy that's a lot adopter of electronic gadgets. I was rolling around with an Iphone 4 until last year, and just upgraded to a 7. I honestly find little value in the latest and greatest electronics; I'd honestly rather take the $8k difference between the 530W and 540 and install Merlyn wastegates with GAMIs, but that's just me.

If the 540 is the only remaining slide-in replacement for the 530W, I expect Avidyne to hold firm on 540 pricing.

You will find your Dynon panel less valuable when selling than a Garmin panel - not sure how good the Dynon is, but the market certainly likes Garmin equipped planes. Might factor that in. As others have said, you could find all the KFC 200 components readily available - I have lots of them myself - at low prices. Spend your panel money on GTN 750 and enjoy your Seneca.

My experience is the little stuff, and the opex, is more frequent, and expensive, on a pressurized twin. (I've owned 340, 414, 2 Aerostars, 2 P-Barons). I've had 3 different NA Barons, and to me, they are cheaper, on average, to operate.....both on fuel and maintenance, and I suspect now insurance would be a factor.
I really enjoy reading posts like this one. The voice of experience - pure and simple....

Seems to me your trips are too short to justify a faster plane. If you sell yours as is, the buyers will beat you up on price given the AP issues and gps etc. garmin will likely drop support of 530 soon. Upgrading what you have probably best option, dynon or garmin.
