Dassault is getting into the ULR bizjet twin market with the Falcon 10X. Nice looking aircraft with some cool innovations, like single lever thrust management etc.

The pilot seats recline so they can take a nap! They must have had some former Northwest pilots working on the design team.

I still enjoy the comfort and styling of the G-V from back in the day.

It's not uncommon for pilots with European airlines to nap in the pilot seat. That's probably a heck of a lot better than two people trying to stay awake.

So, one sleeping and one trying to stay awake is better than two trying to stay awake? Does that make two sleeping (one intentionally and one unintentionally) the best of all?

Controlled rest makes such a difference when it comes to fatigue and alertness!

That’s what I keep telling my kids. But they don’t listen to me!

The single throttle is a pretty big deal, they are also trying to certify it on the 7/8X. We are getting a demo at the end of the month on the 8X, wonder if this is not going to stall that potential purchase

Dassault has a really low opinion of pilots since they expect they can't handle two power levers.

So how do you generate purposeful asymmetric thrust? Say a bird strike damages the left wing and you need to use asymmetric thrust in addition to rudder?

It must have been emotional for some there to have their flagship product depart from the storied tri-jet design. I always like that about the Falcons. Sad to see it go but it does make sense.

Frankly I was stunned by the project, I was expecting a smaller version of the 6X like a 3X. The CL605 is dated even with new CL650, Citation/Textron, I really do not know what they manufacture within that segment anymore though the classics have my sweet spot and Falcon 900 is on life support... It seems that Embrear might be targeting that market efficiently.

I think that the 10X is aimed to slow down the GLEX7500 sales but for the life of me, to me the segment of ULR +7000NM is limited (G700/GLEX7500), so third model? How many can you sell, not to mention 2025 delivery.

As for the single throttle, EASA or FAA will not have certification without some sort of split throttle control. I will try to get some detailed information.

Since it's a fly by wire, I am sure that they can do this via software. Small button on the bottom of the lever for exemple. Not that complicated to accomplish.

Not sure the judgement on the single throttle is fair, I think we can assume their engineering team spent more than a few minutes figuring this out.

It’ll never be certified, dammit, why didn’t anyone bring this up in 2017 when we started this project?! Green.

A true example of that French design axiom, "L'élégance résulte d'une simplicité raffinée" ("Elegance results from refined simplicity").
