When I broke out, all was well but noticed the boots were still inflated. In all previous planes the boots pop and then quickly retract. Mine took 30 minutes to deflate. I assume I have a stuck or bad something in the deice system. Any thoughts on where to troubleshoot ? Call Kevin Mead, the guru of all things PA46

It takes pressure from the vacuum pumps to inflate the boots. It also creates suction to suck them back in. There are a few components that could fail. One being the boot switch, the timer itself that alternates which boots inflate, or the ejector assembly itself.
In flight the boots are constantly being sucked in which can lead to moisture being sucked in to the system from pinholes in the boots. In the case of boot issues that I’ve come up against the solenoids in the ejector assembly had corroded. In a other instance, a diaphragm in the assembly had deteriorated.
You’re pretty handy, I’m sure you can locate the parts in the system with a manual and figure out what’s not working. Thanks .. Good suggestions Issac !

Likely a valve stuck or the vacuum pump/line.
