Yep. A warp drive STC for light aircraft please.

I'd settle for a $40K turboprop replacement for my IO-320.

I think that he spoke correctly.
21,000. miles per hour is very achievable. Nasa does not even have to get involved.
Congress just needs to design that engine with the same formula that they design our financial future.

Using incredible math.

:dancing:

Yup... Should not be problem.
Math is math.

Sorry, I ran out of green ink. :stir:

Why would we even need to go 21,000mph on earth?
Agree with the Zoom comment, no need for that kind of speed anymore.
Internet has made speed irrelevant. I would rather be there in person but from a business standpoint at this time a Zoom call saves thousands of dollars and more when you count the time involved. To create a craft to fly anywhere close to that speed would take more $ than it would ever be worth.

Why waste money on an irrelevant idea?

As mentioned previously, “delusional” and “dementia” plus, it’s not his money being wasted.

Seriously guys, we had 4 years of MAGA on BT, despite the fair share of complete nonsense on a daily basis.
Now we're going to endure another 4 years of right-wing, disparaging comments?

Could you be so kind as to stay within the TOS and give it a rest for those of us who, exhausted, may NOT share your (geo)political affiliation?

Thank you so very much.

They just can't help themselves, despite the fact that half of the comments in this thread are significantly more ignorant than a number misquote.

Classic.

Please cite the specific instances of ignorance in this thread. It's not Okay to to make a statement like that without evidence.

Please prove that a "numbers misquote" was involved. A person in position of power did in fact claim that we could have aircraft that fly at 21,000 miles per hour. The individual corroborated that his statement was what he intended by saying that you could traverse the earth in an hour.

Exactly what was right-wing or disparaging about my initial post? The man said it. This IS an aviation site. If you want to read politics into everything then maybe WE are the ones who are exhausted and don't give two shiites about political affiliation.

This little gem stood out to me as a particularly hysterical exaggeration:

"All of the "But he meant" in the world still doesn't change the fact that it could possibly be the most ill informed statement that I have heard in a LONG time."

The poster clearly never heard such hilarious claims as "We're going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it" or "Right now we have just a few virus cases, and soon it'll be zero".

If anything Biden showed decent grasp of the Earth's dimensions by noting that you could just about get round in an hour at those speeds. Given that SpaceX is not far from point to point travel at clear to those speeds, and that the military usually has much more advanced tech than they let on, a guy who reads through a thousand different items each day failing to flag this is hardly the shock the partisan goofs on here like to imagine.

Politicians say dumber things 1,000 times a day, and once the posts start throwing around "delusional, dementia" and so on it doesn't seem terribly non-political anymore - not to mention the aviation relevance of Biden's wife's Spanish skills? It's all a bit pathetic.

How about "high speed rail"?

The sad part is that it seems unlikely a 2100 mph plane will be developed.

I'm all for, just as I'm all for Artemis, but I'm not hopeful.

Apollo was faster than that, but that was a long time ago.

Has anyone seen spy photos of the prototype yet? Anyone care to speculate on the design? BTW, the Space Shuttle only travels at 17,500 MPH.

Well of course the Shuttle only flew at 17,500 mph. It was an unpowered glider. Everyone knows gliders fly way slower than powered planes.

Regardless of the gaffe, a little optimism to push the ball forward would be nice.

You all that are hating on this are probably flying around in your 60s planes pulling carb heat out and looking for magnesium tails.

Regardless of politics, how about we not sh*t all over the American spirit of innovation? Would love to bring back super sonic flight. Never did get to fly on the concorde.
