Why not have someone analyze the aircraft's factual data and then provide an opinion of the aircraft's market value relative to those facts and the current market? You can find the closest professional aircraft appraiser by going to http://www.appraiseaplane.biz and signing up for their Professional Aircraft Appraiser Finder. Signing up is free and you can use the tool as often as you need to. Good luck.

Couple years ago, that would be a $35k bird all day. 5years ago I was kicking around buy a local 150 in OK condition. They wanted $18k for it and sold for somewhere near that. It sold again not only long ago for $31k cash and carry on the spot. I was shocked and the seller just smiled like a Cheshire Cat about it.
Time is ticking. Put it up for $60k and let the fights begin. If the above is true, then we are in some sort of weird aircraft economy bubble, and yes, get what you can because, politics aside, bubbles by their definition are artificial and do not last.

Look at the markets, look at housing, look at the free money, look at the cost of money. It is a bubble, and it will pop. Letting it pop in some other guys hands is the goal though.
Two houses in my neighborhood sold the day they were listed and there was a line at the door. I haven’t been able to find out what the winning offers were, but the RE agent said if you want to sell, she had multiple buyers all cash ready to go for me. Tempting, but then I’m homeless and I won’t be able to find a home!

The market will make itself heard. I believe it’ll sell in the 70-80k range. I’ve been wrong before. Hopefully the OP will keep us updated...

It sucks when you want to buy, but it's not going to last. Patience will see the numbers come back down to "normal". It's a bummer to have to wait, but I'd rent before I'd buy into the kind of bubble this one appears to be.

No question it will draw $75K or more. Trainers with glass (TAA) are the hottest part of the market right now. Strike while the iron is hot!! It can't last.

It seems something is wrong with some markets. I would think this Cherokee will bring way more than what most of us think. Market for trainers has been hot for as long as wannabe pilots thought they’d skip college, earn all their ratings and become airline captains in 2-3 yrs. I chalked it up to that. More recently, I bought a few cars off of an online auction site (cars are consigned by private sellers). I’ve seen a very similar 2001 Porsche Boxster sell for twice what I had paid for one just 6 weeks previously, and a Cadillac Allante (talk about niche) sell for 4x what I paid for one 8 weeks previously. I’ve seen 25 yr old Honda accords sell for $15,000. There are bubbles everywhere, fueled by some recent easy wall street $$$ and government printing presses (worldwide) that pump $2 billion *an hour* into the market. Now that the US presidency is finalized, inflation may begin rearing its head. It’s been here for awhile, but would pop up in certain places. Won’t be hidden from mainstream for much longer. $$$ keep printing. List it for higher than you think it’s worth. People are looking for a tangible store of value. Bet you generate a lot of interest. Dave

Post it high and reduce the price 5k every week. Worst case it'll sell in 2 months max. Best case it'll sell in couple hours, and your high wasn't high enough.
