“Bombardier on Thursday launched the Learjet RACER remanufacturing program for Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 aircraft. The program, which will only be offered through Bombardier’s Wichita facility, will include enhancement work on the existing Learjet. That will include interior and exterior components, new avionics, high-speed connectivity, engine enhancements and improved aircraft maintenance costs.”

The announcement today reduced the value of every Learjet in the field.

Might not be that many that want to invest a few $million in their aircraft right now.

Having been an aircraft owner for over 30 years now, it bugs me when someone uses “invest” and “airplane” in the same sentence. But that’s just me.

That's Avcon, they do the hush kits for 20 series Lears.

It sure would be fun to own one!

There's a Lear 24D for sale on Controller for $150,000. It has the Stage 3 hush kit and 500 hours to TBO on the engines. Cheap thrills. :D

Hmmm. Buy for $150,000. Fly for 500 hours then sell to a seedy character south of the border for $50,000. Capital outlay of $200/hour. Not a jet guy but that sounds cheap to me.

Well, if maintenance and fuel were free. And a copilot.

Also, TBO is not death. Part 91 can HSI and keep flying without an OH.

I see another 24D for $90K as well. Buy both, make one usable airplane from it with lots of spares.

Ima go out on a limb here and postulate that one can purchase both for under 200k..

The 31a was the most fun jet I ever flew. Sure wish I could have strapped on the 23 at least once.

Hard to beat a lightly loaded 20 series standing on its tail in the climb. Might have been in one while doing that once or twice. Only thing missing was Penny Benjamin.
