Hey gang I’m stuck in Baltimore with the gear problem.

Does anybody have an idea for a shop that can diagnose a 421 issue In my area?

Call anytime 443-739-1127

Alan,

I am sure you are well on the way to solving this issue. Skytech was a good suggestion, although they might only be willing to work on newer airplanes. At least that's their policy at their other base of operations, KDMW. Here are some other possibilities: BT'er Guy Cappuccino owns a 421 and I believe he has it based at Frederick, MD (KDFK) so you might want to contact him.

At York Aviation (KTHV), Jason Henry has lots of Cessna twin experience.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions
I took at the air repair at Easton Airport. They seem to be equipped and capable. Rob the maintenance manager was gracious enough to get me in Friday morning
Stay tuned

Thanks to Rob and gang at AirRepair in ESN
They got me in as promised this morning Found everything in good condition. Swung the gear a few times, operated flawlessly. Lubricated a few points while in there.

Talking through the issues I initially saw the consensus was I may have a sticky up-lock actuator.

It seemed to operate a little smoother on trip back. Probably just me paying more attention than usual.

Air Repair is a great shop. I was there once with a friend dropping off a Falcon for phase inspections. I got a good laugh checking out a platform they had built attached to the upper nose piece of a Falcon 10 for windshield work. On the side of the platform was a label that said, “French Deer Stand.” I should have taken a picture. I’ll never forget it. Good guys. They know their stuff.
