you can put $500k into an Aztec, and it will still only sell for $250k max. That's the nature of all airplanes.
A very rational friend of mine once said of his Mooney: I have the best $150k 201 that $75k will buy.

Seneca’s are fine, and the back door is great, but they ride like crud in turbulence and the cowlings obstruct visibility. Not pleasant to hand fly either. This saying nothing of small bore turbo Continental vs loafing big bore NA or turbo Lycs.
At one point a few years ago I owned a Seneca 3, two Aztecs, and was brokering a beautiful 58 Baron. An embarrassment of riches. To just go out and fly? The Baron, all day. To own and operate? The Aztec for us, we travel heavy and bulky and I love Lyc 540’s. The Seneca was a very distant third. Sandy are you at Wellington? Had our Aztec there visiting chuck thought I remembered him mentioning your name

I'd be interested in information about the 73 model you are brokering.

Is Showalter's still there? https://orlandomemory.info/organization ... g-service/That’s us Jeff, my dad is one of the toddlers perched on the cowling of the Pacer in the lead photo of the article you referenced. My family had the FBO for 75 years, my parents sold it in 2015. It’s Atlantic now. If you remember the “Runway Cafe” then indeed that was a while back. I remember eating there when I was a little boy! Great memories but it’s a wholly different business now than the one I grew up in. We mostly don’t miss it, but again, wouldn’t trade the memories for anything in the world. The green Aztec earlier in the thread is my dad’s retirement airplane, however he’s typed and still current in the 560XL I fly for a local family business. Guess it’s come full circle in a way…now we fly around together and critique FBO’s

Man I loved El Pollo Loco… I’ll be sure to show my dad this, he’ll get a kick out of it.

This thread almost single handedly swayed me from acquiring a seneca to targeting an Aztec. I appreciate the insight. Do you guys have any recomendations on instructors in the Fort pierce, Florida area for some Aztec training?

Do you guys have any recomendations on instructors in the Fort pierce, Florida area for some Aztec training? Try John Lumley (561-271-7638). I think he is still active, if not he can refer you to someone. He is a little south but knows PA23s.

Quote: Try John Lumley Of the Antiquer's Aerdrome Lumleys ? His father, Bill, used to do a very graceful routine in a Chipmunk. (mid 70s) I bumped into John in Anniston 20+ years ago, he was in Piaggio Avanti . Minor thread drift...
