All girls love a helicopter pilot. R44 might be the best aircraft ever made. It does exactly what it was designed to do perfectly. Another bold statement is that it’s probably the most reliable aircraft also.

For those of y'all who keep your R44s at your house, what's a realistic "yard size" or landing pad area that is within a reasonable safety envelope? And do you have issues with your neighbors? I'm a fixed-wing guy, but am rotor-curious. Having a helicopter in the backyard seems, well, awesome.

And if no ordinance, prepare for a visit from Johnny Law your first couple times. Everyone just assumes it must be illegal. True dat. Rest assured that someone with a boat load more money than any of us tried getting that approved years before you ever thought about it! Rotor wing ignoranace is astounding

I have airline guys on either side of me which helps. I had the cops show up twice the first 2 times but they ignore it now. It's no more annoying than a Harley Davidson or Wake Board boat cruising by. BUT, I do expect my day of reckoning will come eventually so I will enjoy it while it lasts.
Circle is where I land. Google earth is pre addition/pool. Michael- What do you expect to happen on the day of reckoning. Can a neighbor prevent you from landing there?
