Well bringing this thread back to life. Purchasing this S-II and in pre buy now. 5500 TT/ New Hots, full Garmin 700Txi and 750's . In the works to be the first S-2 certified with the new STEC 5000 autopilot by Jet Tech this summer... Man do I cry when I look at those prices and airplanes posted a couple of years ago! Oh well...

Username Protected wrote: Congratulations! You'll love the Jettech panel and your SII; I have an entire parts SII behind my hangar with absolutely nothing advertised so if you need any weird pumps or TKS panels, brakes, avionics or gauges, I have them. Pay for the options to refinish all the EL panels; makes a huge difference on the panel upgrade. I've done both black and gray and the black looks stunning. I'm glad you were able to work something out with STEC, that's a huge service to the Citation community you are doing so thank you! Hopefully, that will trickle down to the other models. Michael, I have read your entire thread and found it very informative and entertaining. You seem to be the Citation guy to know around here lol! I will keep you in mind on the parts - I am sure I will need some at some point! I might even preemptively buy a few for my bird. I would do the black panel but the existing GTN750Xis that are coming with the airplane are gray so gonna have to go with that. I AM redoing the EL panels (I cant spell it either ) along with installation of the new Garmin GWX radar and the GDR 560 for talk and text as well. The 3+ will have nothing on me for avionics ! Thanks again for the offer.

I'd be curious what the claimed integration will be with the Garmin stuff. For example, VNAV, vertical speed preselect, sequencing, etc. Let us know how it goes. Autopilot certification isn't for wimps. Mike C.

No keeping her for short range stuff here in Texas. Too nice to let go for now. I love that bird.

Hi Mike, from my understanding it’s to be comparable in capabilities to the GFC650 that’s currently approved for the CJ. That’s the baseline.

TKS wasn't very popular on the S-II. Besides logistics and maintenance, one reason was that passengers would lean against or brush against the leading edge and get the fluid on their clothes.

Yeah I have it in my TTx and its for sure messy. Cleaning the leading edges after every use has become SOP for me. As to maintenance its probably no worse than the boots I have had to replace over 7 years in the Mustang at 35K ... And now I have a parts source lol! (Thanks MT)

The GFC 600 includes full VNAV on STARs. Preselect VS and IAS set points. And a bunch of other stuff. This implies rather tight integration with Garmin navigators and panels. Let me know how well this works out. Mike C.
