Quick poll as I am about to join a owner's group for a twin Cessna 414. Cessna Pilots Association or the Twin Cessna Flyer? I'm looking for the organization that would most closely resemble the ABS and its services.

Twin Cessna Flyers seems to be similar to BT. I am a member of both. I regularly visit Twin Cessna. As they seem to be fairly active. I am also a member of Cessna Pilots Association and compared to Twin Cessna Flyers they aren't as active and seem to be focused mostly on Cessna singles. I own a 182 and fly a 414aw. I keep coming back to BT because they seem to be the most active. As a 414 driver I prefer Twin Cessna Flyers.

I've been a 414 owner for about 4 years and have found the Twin Cessna Flyers Forum to be very useful. The website is a good one, although it doesn't approach the level of BeechTalk. The events are fun, professional and well planned as well. And I like the magazine. Definitely geared towards our (twin Cessna) planes. The Cessna Pilots Assn is more general I suppose, but I am not a member.

Not even a close call. Twin Cessna Flyers is the winner.

CPA is still up and running?

I switched over the Cessna Pilots Society back in 2006 because the CPA had kind of lost their way.

I'm a member of the Twin Cessna forum and love it. Very smart people on board similar to here.

Twin Cessna Flyer, it’s a great resource if you fly a Twin Cessna.

CPA is no longer relevant for twins, it’s barely ok for singles.

I was a member of the Twin Cessna flyer for 1 year and then I dropped it. To me it was just a venue for advertisers with a few tidbits of info, mostly aimed at 400 series owners. For me it was a total waste of $70. Their rig-it-right CD and pamphlet were laughably bad, and contained errors. As a mechanic I was not impressed.

Sorry for your experience. I was a member for 40 years (actually I’m a life member) - 300 series only - found their seminars, magazine and technical advisors worth their weight in gold!

FWIW, I have been a member of ABS for the whole time also - lots of valuable information goes both ways.

My thanks to everyone for their quick reply. BeechTalk really is a great resource. Thank you all.

^^^ this. CPA imploded in a spectacular way several years ago.

3 or 4 years ago I was the pilot on a 414. I joined the Twin Cessna pilots org. It's not bad but no comparison to Beechtalk. I would post a 414 question on both sites and always got a quicker and better answer on Beechtalk.
