Mark, does your right engine run a few degrees hotter than your left and burn a few more PPH too? Or is it right in line with the left?

It mirrors the left

Mark...Don’t you know that it is highly illegal and against all FARs to have a student Pilot in the right seat flying? I mean you can’t possible know enough to teach someone the finer points of jet work. . Ha...I crack me up.

Seriously, great vids and great work with your daughter! Hope she goes for advanced ratings soon after PPL.

To the thread topic...a buddy has a Merdian. Various issues have caused a “what is next” conversation. He was looking at King Air, potential leaseback, etc... My thought is to skip that and go to Mustang. Probably (unknown to me never having flown a Mustang) easier to handle in a OEI than a C90. For his mission he does not need a bigger plane. Just go there and be “done with it”?

You may have the right idea in more than one way! Unless he needs to carry more people, fly in to really short strips or fly a lot less than 150 hours per year, there’s no reason not to go Mustang.

And... right now we are having a heck of a hard time finding pedigree King Air C90B’s... they’re like Covid toilet paper!

Speaking of short strips, what length runway are Mustang drivers comfortable using around sea level?

Mark, just curious, what is that giant iPad giving you that your Garmin doesn’t? Seems to be blocking a good bit of vision

Just traffic/weather?

Was just testing it. Usually lays in copilot seat. I went to a mini.

I use 3,000 as my minimum. Landing distance typically is no problem. Balanced field length for takeoff can get up to or just over 3,000 depending on conditions.

Funny...my buddy with the Meridian asked the same question! I grazed BlueBook and a P100 is $400-600k more for same year (avg retail). Beyond that and what I read, I know nothing. But would be curious what knowledgeable folks think.

I’m a bigger fan of the Mustang at this point, the ten year items on the Phenom carry a big price tag for a little jet.

Historically the prices have been $400k higher, but I don’t see the value difference, I think they’ll settle out about the same, the Phenom is a little more airplane, but cost more to operate.

I’m a really big fan of the Phenom 300, I just wish the 100 was more like it.

P100 premium is all about ramp presence. The performance between the two is within a you know what hair, but stepping up the airstairs into the Phenom is a whole 'nother world.

I don't think so. The EV has a cruise of 405kts.

Chip- what are the 10 year items?

I think the gear overhaul is the big one which historically has been around $150,000. But third party companies have started doing it cheaper now. 100 also has a lav, more room in the back seats. Not sure about cockpit space, 100 is a bit tight for taller folks. Sketchy braking as well on the 100. 60 kts faster, no minimum hours for programs either.

Chip-
