 Post subject: Windshield deice on a Cessna T-210

My mechanic is working on a T210 that is FIKI (boots), but the hot plate is "ugly", not quite sure what all that means. Because I have some experience in a 210 with TKS and Baron with a alcohol windshield he asked if I knew if a alcohol or TKS windshield only system was available for the 210. He is aware they would lose the FIKI. He has checked the CAV website but not yet spoken with them.

Not surprised. Is there a preferred company that rebuilds windshield heat units?
