That video clearly targets the wives of men farmers wanting to keep their husbands out in the fields more making money. It was so blatant. Little happy trees in the background was a dead give away. When did JD start marketing to women?

Sorry JC, couldn't resist! :D

But sounds like you're coming around to the possible benefits of this new connect app?

p.s. We loved our visit to Asheville over Christmas break. Had never been to The Biltmore. Downton shopping and restaurant scene was awesome. Had an amazing dinner at Cucina24. Need to bring my bike next time I'm there. Awesome roads to ride. Only hiccup was FBO forgot to put my plane in the hangar, despite telling me 3x they did. So it got pounded with rain one night. :pullhair:

Not everyone is interested in remote diagnostics. These same guys probably have a tag next to the hobbs.

Edited to add info from different article- "As manufacturers pack more technology than ever into today's tractors, they've also made it next-to-impossible for people to wrench on their own rigs by locking key systems behind firewalls only a dealer can unlock, using proprietary tools in assembly, and limiting the resale of spare parts."

I think Cirrus has it figured out. You just have to accept that the airplane becomes obsolete just like your iPhone does. Just how tech works. If you can’t accept that you buy an old tractor, or airplane. Room for both markets.

I just hope Cirrus doesn't derate older engines with a software patch in order to "preserve engine life" as a means to force upgrades. Or will they?

If its like the TBM app it only shows the fuel quantity the last time you shut down.
Unless you go back and cycle the master and start the G1000 you wont see if the FBO as fuel you.

That sure seems like a solution in search of a problem.

Geez, if I only knew my battery voltage I'd be ready to fly as soon as I got to the airport. Give me a break.

"you get to the FBO, you look out at the airplane, you're confident it is ready"
Seems like a stupid thing to say to someone.

I’d love to know if my plane has been fueled or not without having to call the FBO and hope they’re telling the truth.
