I'd prefer just listening to the actual audio of the controllers rather than have perky talking heads emotionally repeating everything that the controllers say. I concur. Perhaps keep Skippy and Buffy on the Left audio channel from the mission controllers on the Right?

I had a similar reaction. Can't watch that Challenger tape, I turn away every time. I was relieved to hear this was planned destruction.

I believe they still have to do the launch pad abort test again after the compsule blew up last year.

It is truly incredible what they have been able to do with the current technology. How we ever painted ourselves into a corner where we needed Russian engines for our rockets and have to hitch hike on a Russian spacecraft to the ISS is embarrassing. Privatization and competition seem to be working in our favor.
Really enjoy watching these videos of the launch and recovery. Looking forward to the first manned launch in the near future.

Probably like all of us I've been a space junky my entire life. Jim Lovell came to our little back-water town (Lawrence, KS) after Apollo 13 and gave a nice, probably canned, talk about it. I do remember him talking about herding urine droplets to out of the way corners which to a kid was funny of course. I got his autograph. Also "met" Gene Cernan and Buzz Aldrin separately sometime later which is another story.
Personally I could use a more detailed, less perky narration of these flights, but regardless, they are doing very cool things. I don't think NASA did such an inflight escape test on any of the rocket combinations, though I seem to remember they did some escape tower testing. Anyway, keep going SpaceX!
