Doug,
Mark Felton has a collection of military history in short Youtube films, I have not yet found any glaring errors in his work.
There is one episode that I was almost involved with personally:
I was returning from Germany to my homefield one morning, there was some very unusual chatter on the radio : 'has it crashed yet', 'did they shoot it down?'. Got my attention;
I landed without further incident, the same evening we saw on the news what happened, the MiG crashed a few NM from my homebase, having run out of fuel, it was chased by F15 from the USAF standing by to shoot.
