From the epic website this is a really interesting chart...

https://3w0z92pp4tr2x6xhj4d00l3h-wpengi ... arther.pdf

Shows average flight length/ average time to get real block to block speeds....

Epic: 282
Shows Epic faster than:"

SF50:249
Cessna Mustang M1:258
Phenom 100:275
Eclipse 550:266
Honda jet:272

Only thing in the chart beating this is a Mustang M2 (by 21 Knots.) 302

Very poor form for a company that wishes to be taken seriously to post such rubbish.

They had a couple competitive analysis' at NBAA I snapped a pic of. I thought it was a little hokie to have this in a binder and not as part of a nice glossy brochure. But I get it, I'm sure they need to conserve as much cash as possible until the sales start rolling in.

If only they could fit 8 seats in it (even a couple small ones) it would be perfect for me. Meridian/TBM too small and PC12 too big for me. It's not that big though, needs about 2' more in length.

The lav is so key IMO.

Planes like M2, Phenom 100, Hondajet all have lavs and less range and they's the same size as the Epic. They don't really need a lav.

the epic is actually pretty small inside. the back taper in the cabin size is dramatic.

Still big enough for 6’6” passengers with a few inches above, and a ton of room between seats in the club

Jason,

Are you saying the Epic has a lav? I have not seen a Lav in the Epic.

I think a Lav is a big deal for passengers peace of mind. Nobody wants to be stuck in the air having to go potty and be the one that makes the plane land.

I just got a 421 with a Lav and although I doubt we will ever use it my wife is really excited to have it as an option.

No.

We were talking about cabin size and I was making the point that I'd rather have a lav. TBM doesn't have one but all these mini jets that don't really need one do.

A lot of planes don't require Lav's but its sure nice to have.

IMO the Epic cabin is plenty large. I am 6'5" 250lbs and I sat in all the seats and was very comfortable. I think it's plenty big.

I see the Epic competing with TBM and Piper but I dont see too many PC12 guys thinking about an Epic. I could be wrong but if speed is the most important they will just get a jet. If size and payload are important they will get a PC12.

If I were going to buy a new TBM or M600 I would be buying an Epic for sure.

I've been researching the M2 a lot. If you fly it yourself and don't need to haul a bunch of people it's a great airplane. 1500NM. I've been tracking them a lot of FA. Lot's of them flying 4+ hours.

I found the cockpit uncomfortable and don't think I could sit in it for more than an hour. Seems to fit smaller folks better. My buddy was too tall to even get into the cockpit. I'm told they can take out the coffee bar to give the crew seats a little more travel. Easy to fly though. The site picture out the window for takeoff and landing is just like the TTx/Columbia.

Compared to what? It's bigger than the competition (M600 and TBM).

I got out of my PA46 Mirage and got into the Epic and it was way larger. I fit great in the cockpit. I wonder if there are different ways to set up the seats? I could see some being different than others.

But it’s for sure bigger than a PA46 and TBM for that matter.

It's the same tube as the CJ3 and CJ4. Is the cockpit really so different?

I need to sit it one and see if it's less comfortable than PC12.

JC,

Bound to be less comfortable for you - no room for your coterie of 4 blondes, 4 brunettes and a couple of redheads.
