Saw this on Controller and though it was unusual to see aircraft sold in pairs!
$3,600,000 for the Pair - Serial Number 1228 and 1229, Low Time (less than 250 hrs TT)

And how could a 2012 Avanti II have only 151 landings and 129 hours TT?
That's a lot of time in the shop.

Having only stayed in a Holiday Inn Express a few times I’m not sure if I’m qualified to retort.

It would appear to the layman that something queer is afoot. If not queer, possibly something transitional or translational in nature. Or possibly not.

Many of those Chinese operated aircraft sit on the ground. They hook up a cart and do business in the ground on the plane. It happens with other airframes as well, not just Piaggio. There are some low time Gulfstreams. The APU will have more time than both engines combined!

The irony is that pilots sit up front twiddling thumbs and looking busy. ...the planes never move. Business finishes and they shut down and park the plane after the PAX leave. Rarely are they approved to move or fly.

To be fair, the pilots have to build time somehow, so they can move on to Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines.

Landing gear overhauls on these airplanes are expensive, if I recall correctly from reading other threads here...

I wonder if landing gear overhaul is purely based on cycles? If not, those gear legs would surely qualify as "high time" for all the sitting around they have done!

All joking aside, I'd love to have one of those. Too bad there are at least two too many zeros in the price tag...

If you took the time to look at the ad you would note that the aircraft are registered in China and belong to a Chinese owned aircraft simulation company. I incorrectly assumed that pilots knew how lucky they were to fly in the US and how few flights are approved in ChinaZ. Because of how the flight approvals are given, and how business is done, the low times should not be a surprise. They are rarely approved to fly business aircraft overs there but they will purchase them and use them for business even if it is on the ramp.

No Chinese grandkids for me! ...at least none that I know of.

Of all the TP owners and jet owners I know. Nobody has ever, ever, said the gear overhauls were too cheap. Certainly a pain, for sure. But time is up, it's up. Pony up.

A shop at my home airport (KTME - Houston Executive) services Piaggios, so I see them on the ramp occasionally. Really striking aircraft. Cabins look great on the inside too.

Don't have to do the gear overhauls part 91 on the Piaggios.
