I posted this elsewhere— but I’ve heard that there’s an Italian company making carbon blades for the Hughes, just don’t have any more details to offer.

This YouTube channel has a lot of G2 content: [youtube]... Interestingly, I did my Schweizer 300 checkout with Mischa just as they were switching their "fleet" over to the Cabri G2. I have been planning to head out there for a couple of days to add the G2 to my license (In Canada we have to get typed on each individual helicopter) but just haven't gotten around to it.
One of my buddies who has an R22 got some time in a G2 out of curiosity. He told me it was a nice helicopter but mentioned that the fenestron tail felt "non-linear" in that the end part of the pedal travel was much more effective than the middle.

That is very cool, thanks. Nice looking helicopter and the features are impressive.

I flew the r22 a couple of variations, I was not impressed with the cockpit size with the doors off it was fine, the 300 CB I got my license in was offered as a dry lease at 90 per hour, I thought why not my shop is big enough to park it, so all I would need was fuel and insurance. I called 3 companies for insurance with 1500 TT 100RW, 78 in type and an 80 K Hull and the insurance was going to be 1200 a month with 10k deductible. I would take the 300 over a 22 and the 44 over both if I had plenty of AMU's, but unlike Rocky It would just be a play toy, the 200 mile commute requires the BO, as I could drive it faster than the 300 could fly it. I think the reason the Rotorway helicopters have low time is that folks buy them in the urban setting thinking they can run to the city and skip traffic on the commute, only to find the city, county or municipality have restricted helicopters to helipads which they don't have so you are stuck with the airport, the pretrip time is about 3 times that of the BO.
The plus side was landing on a river bank to swim fish or picnic or in a clearing to hunt or hike.
