While I'm still looking and waiting to find the right Bo, I will be giving a few Beech drivers a run for the money in this. Its been sitting a few years, but the price was to hard to ignore.

Beautiful airplane. Not for the everyday joe, but reserved for the cognoscenti. Even though the pejorative term is "Cardboard Constellation", the select few that possess them also are conversant with makes such as Bugatti, Riva, and Stradivarius. That massive wooden wing is a work of art, and with proper care, may outlive many metal ones.

TN I'm well versed in them and have worked on a bunch of them. They are a great airplane, although a bit cramped to get into. As with all of them, its only money and passion that keeps any of them flying.

A true classic! The Bellanca 260.
I read somewhere that sourcing the flying wires for the empennage was a problem. In your experience, is that accurate?
Hope you’ll post some additional photos of your ship.

Hope you’ll post some additional photos of your ship. We have a new set for another Cruisemaster here. I will be looking for an extra set just to have as soon as we get it home. You can never have enough tail wires.

TN Tom, we used to have a fellow at Van Nuys with a Bellanca Viking 300 who would address the controller (back in the great days of Phil Aune in the tower for those who know VNY or are students of the movie “One-Six Right”) on his initial radio call as “Proud Bellanca 12345”. I’ve never flown one but I know of their reputation for having great control feel and structural strength that is legendary. Maybe one day I will be able to experience one from the left seat.

I got to fly one and really liked it (viking that is). If someone couldn't quite afford an F-33, this would be the plane to get.

Ran it yesterday for the first time after sitting several years. After running it, we ended up pulling all the fuel lines to be replaced and throttle body for fresh seals. Hopefully no more delays after this and we can ferry it back to the shop for an extensive look over.
