So...in addition to regularly flying my D55 Baron, a C-182T for Civil Air Patrol, and a PA-31-350 for a client...I just finished getting checked out in a brand-new Diamond DA62. Pretty impressive aircraft. Today I got approximately 170 KTAS on 15.0 GPH (7.5 per engine) of Jet-A at 80% power. You can cruise at up to 95% power for speed, or as low as you want for economy. No mixtures or prop controls. Everything is automatic based on how much power you request. Also, there is no such thing as a “hot start” or a “cold start”. They always start instantaneously. Here’s a pic, so you know it happened:

Oh, Daniel...I didn’t purchase. That’s $1.2M I don’t have. :bugeye:

I have a client who needed it for business and pleasure but isn’t a pilot, so I fly it for him. :pilot:

Whoa! Very cool. What influenced his purchase decision over something like a SETP?

Hey Vince- Serious question, how does it fly- handling, climb performance, maneuvering? Sporty? Truck-like? It's a beauty! Thanks for sharing with us. Can you post some interior pics? I know you took some!

I think it was two things: 1) The safety of a FIKI Twin, and 2) Very low hourly operating costs.
