Clint - Sure you didn't use Mustang data when you looked at this - I just ran the numbers on flight aware and with no wind the Mustang uses almost exactly 2000 lbs for an 1100 nm trip. The M2 will use about 20% more on that trip.

After looking again, I think you’re right. I did. My bad.

We now have negotiated the deal on a nice little 2015 M2 for our client and have it at Textron for prebuy. I actually started this thread with the intent of putting the word out that we were in the hunt for one... truth is that 17 airplanes ended up on our list! We missed one here in Texas by $150K and a few days later had a deal on one in California. It took ten days from acquistion to purchase agreement and unless something major comes up in the prebuy it will be the fastest acquisition we have done to date, probably end up somewhere around 30 days... it took us 38 to close on the 350 that BT’er Wes Watkins flies.

The only thing wrong with the M2 is that Cessna hasn’t stretched it into an M3 yet. Come on guys, grab a 2+ and throw a G3000 and winglets on it and lets go!

Wish I'd remembered this thread, Chip. We have a customer of ours that is wanting to move from his M2(2014) to a CJ3+.

Cessna did that. It was called the 2+ Alpine Edition. Basically a program to upgrade existing 2+ using the M2/3+ cockpit and avionics. There is one flying today. For whatever readon Cessna announced the program then silently let it die.

It was weird, I'm sure there were some complex behind the curtain reasons. I was once told that on the 3+ that Cessna added the cost of the G3000 on top of the RC avionics, because of an agreement with Rockwell... no one from Textron has ever confirmed that and I know some of those folks pretty well.

Makes more sense to come out with a new model that does less to confuse the current product line.

Todd, we found a 2015 that was really low time, close on it tomorrow. I’m pretty deep in the CJ3+ market right now, so give me a call if I can help you out.
