Welp the year ends with a new bird for me. 1976 IAR 823 Picked it up in Nampa today and zipped over to Alpine for a few days of “customer meetings”. Let the beatings begin! Attachment: EE565552-3D68-4918-B3E9-C8304B965C6D.jpeg

After a semi-gnarly 6 hour battle from 46U to KDVT I got the new plane “POS” home to phoenix. That one day in a year when Wyoming was clear and Phoenix is IMC. Kept following the VMC and after 5 hours and 75G I gave up at Kingman and refueled then zorched home. Saw a consistent 155 KTAS and 15gph. Next is the G3x Touch, 750, 3 axis autopilot and Air Conditioning lol. Only one “NASA Report” to do...just blindly following the VMC conditions (I-F-R) I observed some really really spectacular terrain... Cliff Coy at Border Air at KFSO in Swanson, VT may be able to get you information about the fuel injection adjustment. His dad, George Coy was the one that imported most of the IAR 823s through his shop. I saw quite a few of them there while my Yak 52 was in their shop for annuals.

I have no affiliation, just a happy customer.
George Yes it is EXP and probably will enlist them for Bendix work in the future. I did the Bendix basic test and I think the idle mixture is too lean (no rise at cutoff). Plane is torn apart now for more detailed evaluation and planning of the G3x and A/C system. So much room!!! And It’s a tank. Has a Beechcraft OAT probe and Mp/FF gauge currently. All coming out. Cockpit is massive haha. 44” wide all the way to the ceiling. Attachment: E6A01DA0-CFB9-4289-9820-1E95C9195EA0.jpeg Attachment: 1D6592DC-CE21-4B74-BFFD-418A69FF1FA5.jpeg

Slowly making progress. LRUs for G3X touch installed and now working on the AP Servos (3). Version 2 of the panel should be out of the pool today. AC compressor mount fixture hopefully here in the next week. Good chance I will be done in 2019 Attachment: Panel.JPG Attachment: IMG_6472.jpg Can't decide if to use pushrod or capstan on elevator, its 2.45" throw and pretty heavy. I can use the capstan here, or the pushrod type further up stream at the initial pushrod. Attachment: 57534178765__08A421CD-3509-41F3-9766-8B5B04863037.JPG
