Do any MU-2 guys know what the complete hose replacement (10 year) cost is on a Solitaire? I took a test flight in one today and really liked it but this popped up on the report. I'm not sure I want one of these yet but I am doing my due diligence.

It’s not ridiculous. I don’t recall exactly, I will try to find data, but I remember thinking that it made one inspection a bit more but not crazy.

The Solitaire is an industrial quality man's airplane with lots of buttons and switches to keep one fully engaged. I thought the Garrett Salute was some sort of urban legend but alas it is real; perhaps out of jealousy.

I just got off the phone with the service guys. The annual inspections are flat rated around $6,500 and the hose replacement was actually already done at the 10 year inspection just not recorded on the tracking sheet. Regardless, it's not an expensive thing.

MU2s are hard to beat. All the Solitaires on the market have been there a long time and don't seem to be moving. I'd love to upgrade and go 300kts but not for twice the money. I did stumble on a used G600 with synthetic vision and will be adding that to mine as soon as the shop can get me in.....unless some airplane junkie (Michael) wants to buy my perfect F before hand... :)

Are you on a Power by Hour program ?

The hoses are all teflon , no replacement req

On condition

Firewall to engine ?

Next there are brake and gear hoses also.

My uncle had a early model back in 1973 ( P ), Crownair San diego was the shop

Funny, years later I know do the various stuff for them

To my knowledge hose replacement on a schedule applies to King Airs and not too most of the other twin tprops.

That's because oem Beech was mil-h-8794 rubber

With and without firesleeve , when you see a C spec on the beech part what does that mean ?

I was doing Beechcraft West Van Nuys hoses in the late 80 's

It's called a five year inspection....

Still doing some early Lear stuff for others also

So you tell me more please ?

We did the 10 year last year with hose replacement.
It added about $2k to the entire process.
If I recall that 10 year is regarding refrigeration hoses specifically.

I can pull the Mx Requirements Page if you like.

Brake lines and engine hoses are separate items.

Adds:
Looking at the Mx Reqs book there are a bunch of 10 year items. We already had out engines off and outer wing panels off for the 8500 inspection and I think there were some fuel hoses done.

Here is a great reason to own a Solitaire. This is my personal best TAS.

Is IAS usually higher than CAS in the MU2?
