Received an email from Nassau Flyers based at FRG.

Looking ahead to 2019
A brand new Vision Jet, a growing fleet, and a restructured club membership are only some of the exciting changes for 2019. Read below to learn more!

2018 Cirrus SF50 (Vision Jet) Rental

Nassau Flyers is excited to announce the newest addition to our fleet, a brand new Cirrus Vision Jet. Beginning in January of 2019, the Vision Jet will be available for lessons and trips for certificated pilots. Nassau Flyers will be one of the only training centers in the world to feature a Vision Jet in the fleet, and we are very excited to share it with you. All flights in the Vision Jet will be performed with a type-rated Vision Jet Instructor.

The Vision Jet will never get certified

That's awesome. Wish the brochure told us the hourly rental rate.

Very cool! I hope more clubs/schools follow their lead. Imagine the boost that could give GA pilot starts.

Nassau Flyers isn't the only one doing this from what I see, maybe I'm wrong?

The one at PDK you could access, is already setup for this

Here's the prices, go do it!

Yup. I know those guys. They've been doing it. I told them that I heard on BT that the Vision Jet was going to bankrupt Cirrus and it was a horrible idea. They ignored my warnings. :D

It is cool, but I can't imagine it would lead to more than a handful of GA starts. Out of reach for 98% of the pilots out there.

Neat to see though.

I'm gathering that they won't let you "rent" the Vision jet solo (without an instructor)?

And it requires a type rating I thought?

Once you're checked out and typed they will.

It looks like they will be running a Part 134.5 operation under the guise of "flight Instruction". I think it might be pretty successful if the dry rate is under $1000 an hour.

My buddy just spent $6K round trip to charter an SR22 with a pilot. 250NM each way.

yes, there are a ton of pilots (mostly new pilots) out there that will pay to travel in style, but can't and should not be in faster/larger airframes yet, the vision jet with a second set of paid eyes is a perfect compromise, impress your passengers and impress your accountant if you do it right
