That's very nice, Jeanné!

You simply cannot beat a 182 for overall ease of use, cost of operation, utility, and 'passenger ease of access'.

Congratulations!

We went out to dinner last night with my new partner and his wife. They gave me this gift. :bud: They are so nice and she is very interested in him getting his instrument rating. I taught him to fly about 10 years ago, test flew this plane with him when he bought it and did his insurance checkout.

Jeanné, this is great to hear; adding an airplane partnership to an already strong, long standing relationship! I have the privilege of being partners with 2 friends since 1976 in our 1958 182. It's a rare and wonderful thing. :woot:

This would be an interesting experiment: Hook pilots up to a lie detector and have them describe their actual mission needs. Take those results and feed them into a computer that would pick out the optimal airplane. The optimal airplane selected for about 75% of the pilot population? The Cessna 182.

Congratulations!

And his name is Charlie Lima. (Full name is N621CL.) Purchased him on Halloween but just flew him for the first time yesterday as an owner.
I had borrowed him in the past to do things like Angel Flights for wheelchair kids as it had 2 doors and is easier to get in than the Archer or Saratoga. Also had gone to Oshkosh the last two years in it with the owner (and now my partner).
After the deal was done, I read my horoscope for the day - oh no! And then on Facebook my friend posted the cartoon below!
Charlie is a 1999 Cessna 182, steam gauge with a Garmin 530 and Garmin transponder ADSB in and out which is just fine for me.

Haha Great Post!!!! Congrats!

When the first G1000 Skylanes came out, everyone felt sorry for new owners of recent deliveries with steam gauges. Then, as G1000 upgrades proved costly, the tables began to turn. I think post-restart and pre G1000 is one of a couple of sweet spots for 182’s.

Congratulations, Jeanné!

Stuart,
Thanks. Absolutely it is. I analyzed my needs for a while before jumping in. Could have bought an older twin or faster single by myself but decided I needed a newer (less than 20 years old) and lower time plane with a partner. Already thinking about some panel changes.

Joe and Charlie have now officially met. :bud:
Where do you take your husband and boyfriend on a first date? To a sold out Chiefs game. Nail biter and you can see that no one was leaving early even though it was very cold. We got home just in time to see the end of the game and overtime. Chiefs won!
For you airspace Nazis, I know that there is a TFR! :peace: Got flight following from approach with a Class Bravo clearance and flew just above 3000' AGL.
