Too bad. I was thinking that flying for Surf was going to be my retirement job.

I have just started to hear radio ads for Surf Air in the Los Angeles area so it seems like someone has stepped in to try and reinvigorate the idea. I think its interesting trying to fill a niche below JetSuite X, unfortunately these reemergence seem to typically end in closing up shop and paychecks and maintenance bills not being paid. If you do business with them, you better make sure payment is received up front!

?? They refer to their third party operators.... Is it just a broker company? They use to lease or own PC-12's in their California operations. They sold that maybe a year or two ago and went solely to 3rd party operators.
It sounds like maybe they made a small fortune....out of a large fortune.

Most disappointing is that Surfair created ill will in the surrounding neighborhoods of KSQL from overhead noise that will last much longer than their business.

Quote: just started to hear radio ads for Surf Air in the Los Angeles area They are doing a lot of radio ads on a Sacramento station also. Avoid the TSA and fly for reasonable cost.. or some such. KFBK

If you do business with them, you better make sure payment is received up front! They took 2 airframes from Texas to reopen a few routes in California, that's why they are trying to win back customers with their advertising. Let's just say. Do you think a financially stable company would resort to crowdfunding to find customers by basically price dumping their "memberships"...? https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/surf-air-express#/

What do I know, but if Surf Air interests you, you might want to check N111NY, N809SA, and N816SA, which were the tail numbers operating for them in Texas.
Looks like they are done for good.
