All this time I thought I was standing alone in the room when all I needed to do was turn the light switch on and see the room is full. :D :bud:

Tom

I just spent 13AMU on my annual. Not a record around here but a bunch for me.

I am convinced that aggressive proactive maintenance saves in the end. This could have easily resulted ln a lifter through the case and an off-field landing. I may only be in for a minor repair with a fresh bottom end (sub $30k)

Some of my choices have been overkill, but I have good relationships with everyone I’ve sold a plane to and I love the process so how’s that for justification?

Its only money boys. They’re printing more every day!

Pulling out all stops.

In-depth first inspection resulted in a great report overall. We did find a crack in the rudder, so off to Beegles.

I want the plane perfect after this down time so I’m addressing paint and interior while we do the engine along with all the little imperfections.

At the end I’ll have a Turbo’d, roomy, 185kt, 1000mile , deiced six seater with nose and aft baggage and no excuses. Tough to duplicate so might as well make her the best she can be while I have down time.

This thread should be linked to the Prebuy/Annual discussion.
In the end, you get what you want.

There’s a thread about how the Prebuy didn’t find all the problems the first Annual did after purchase. That buyer was dissatisfied with the quality of his prebuy and the cost’s incurred at the annual.
You appear to have bought an old (most are) airplane and are moving forward with open eyes to make it your family traveling machine.

Agreed. I believe in owning planes you can afford to make perfect. The ownership experience is much more enjoyable and the eventual sale is a breeze.

This: is quite unfortunate. One of the greatest contributors. Last I saw he had a disagreement with “management”. Ruled off the sand box.
