Dont forget the $60k-80k per month satellite broadband internet service. That's about what it is on a couple of the long range biz jets I work on. Companies dont bat an eye at it.

That's a real eye opener, huh. All these major corps treating flight crews as if they're uneducated taxi drivers trying to pay them a 1, 2, 3k$ less per month...and then you see the internet invoice.

I read that as "All these flight crews allowing major corps..."

If those execs in the back can't fly themselves, aviators need to do a better job of evaluating their negotiating positions.

I'm thinking of opening a flight school that doesn't have a damned thing to do with airplanes...

Yep. You're not wrong. That's pretty much why I wont take a full time job. Theres always some pilot in the interview pool that will work for whatever they offer. For whatever reason, lost a job and 3 kids in private school, recent divorce, whatever.

And the flight school without flight training is a great idea. But with the deepening pilot shortage its becoming less and less of a factor and a lot of pilots are growing a pair during negotiations.

Thank you Eric, for reading that post in the exact spirit in which it was intended.

I felt bad all day that I had covered you with my muzzle, but was too busy to fix it!

:peace:
