I was just skimming the article in AOPA pilot about the new Cessna Longitude. I thought it was hilarious in the little box where it mentioned the specs and the purchase price of $26.5M that it worked out to $142,000 a month for 20 years with 20% down.

I wonder what Dave Ramsey would say about that one. :D

Kind of amazing in that doesn't cover anything other than getting a pink slip that says it is yours. Not the taxes, insurance, heck, not even picking it from the factory. I'm pretty sure you'll get a Cessna cap thrown in though, no extra charge.

If any of you are signing up for one, more power to you. If you would like company to chat with on that long flight from Kansas to Paris, drop a line and I'll see if I can make a hole in my schedule.

You can double that for the G550.

We have a fellow not far from my airstrip that has one heck of a warbird collection. We're talking Corsair, Mustang, Texan, Trojan, Mitchell, Catalina, Policarpov, Spitfire, Mosquito, Hurricane, Messerschmitt, Skyraider, Seafury, on and on. Its really amazing that if you add all of that stuff together, you'd barely have a good down payment on some of those high end corporate aircraft. :bugeye:

I'd like the option to seriously consider such a decision some day...

Obviously this deal is for a corporation with lots of cash flow but how much money would you want in the bank to buy this deal?

Even if you could afford it...... would you? How much can you fly to eek out feeling like you’re getting that amount of joy out of it?

Corporate decisions to buy resources like airplanes, equipment, or added people typically come down to return on investment. If this airplane can help a company to become more effective, efficient, and make more money, the $5.5M down and $145k/mo is worth it.

When I win the lottery this Tuesday, I’m putting in my order. Of course since I don’t play my chances of winning aren’t good but they won’t improve much if I buy a ticket.

You could always buy a Netjets share. They just announced a large order for them along with the Hemisphere.

I have a hangarmate who just bought a new Lattitude. The company just prints money. My understanding is that it’s used primarily for personal trips and client entertainment and very little business travel. The costs are simply eye watering. I can’t imagine that even if I had that kind of dough that I’d spend it like that. Clearly others feel differently.

Y’all realize some of our employees might say the same about us. Especially Jason. Well... if his robots could think like Elon thinks they can.

It’s all levels and perspective.

If I win the Mega lottery, I'm going to buy 20 Denali and compete against Plane Sense....

My only condition is that Textron rebrand the Denali as the Beech Viscount.

I've decided if I win the lottery I'm going to keep a low profile. No really fancy expensive jets for me. I'll just charter when I want to go far and fast.

I do want to have a few airplanes though. A tail dragger with big tires, a TBM 900, and something small fast and slick.

Heck is it bad that would be satisfied with a PC12 if I hit the mega millions? I think I would fine chartering for anywhere I felt I need to fly in a jet.
