Looking to buy a fitted thermal cover for the 185. Kennon doesn't make them anymore, and Bruce's is expensive. Anyone have experience with Mac's (https://www.airplane-covers.com/cowlingblanket.htm)?

I know people use horse blankets, but that's not what I'm asking about. I still have the famous Teddy Grahams comforter for use in the hangar.

A Mac cover came with my S35. The price difference compared to the Bruce cover matches with the quality. IOW, you get what you pay for.
I sold the Mac cover.

I own TWO Mac's covers. One for my J-3, and one for my Deb.

I'm 100% satisfied. The quality is great, and the insulation properties are excellent as well.

I can't imagine what Bruce's could possibly do to top the quality of Mac's. Maybe they use gold thread. :hide:

I really didn’t mean to disparage the MAC cover, it’s just I had both, and side by side the MAC was less. I could see the $100 difference. I have to also clarify that my other cover is a older original TANIS cover, now they are called Bruce’s, not sure they are the same.
But the differences were, the “Bruce” cover was much heavier, quilted material that felt much more heavy duty. The outer shell was a rip-stop type fabric that seemed very tough compared to the Bruce.
I had both and needed one, I wanted the best, the MAC went on EBay. I can’t give a more honest side by side report than that.
Edit: I imagine a cover made of paper towels would be sufficient in Georgia. :D :hide:
