My understand that the folks with the money to develop the 700 didn't want the existing debt or co-owners.
This should clear the field and hopefully we will see the 700. And I wouldn't be surprised a 550 with Garmin's. A G550? :scratch:

We lost $141.63 when Eclipse filed bankruptcy stemming from a past due shipping charge. I got my money worth and more telling off their Director of Purchasing. Cheap learning experience!

They announced their new plan today to sell refurbished Garmin G3000 used Eclipses.

Interesting strategy. Let the values of AOG and unsupported airplanes tank and then buy them up cheap, stick a new panel in them and sell them at a profit.

Any takers ready to send them a deposit?

My experience is that I have had Aerosonic,IS&S and PS Enginerring fix parts for my plane. While you have to wait a couple of weeks for the repair it’s also less expensive than getting replacement parts from Eclipse

So in my experience what you refer to is way overblown.

I think you are drinking the TBM cool aid :cheers:

They would still be here and have made life a little t harder for Vision, etc.
in car talk they call this NIH syndrome. For years, the Detroit car engineers, didn’t like it if it wasn’t invented here....
Eclipse formed by software guys who drank their own coolaid.

What’s an eclipse go for these days?
I know two owners. They are having a blast with them. They essentially treat them as throwaway planes if something major goes wrong. (They can both afford that attitude) So, for about 750 AMU you have a twin engine jet! I have about 50 hrs of right seat time in one. What a blast! The avionics....

100% they'd have been successful. I wanted to buy one back in 2008 until I got in there and saw that ridiculous AVEO avionics setup. I asked the salesman "why did they put this in here"? I was a noob at the time but had lots of G1000 and Avidyne time and knew that AVEO was a bad idea.

Remember that tiny keyboard? What are you supposed to do with that? type? Ha.

There's a broker that specializes in these things and I called about an IFMS with under 1000 hours, he was asking $899K. Oh, and it has a broken probe that they promise will be here in November. I would take a chance at $600K. The broker insisted that everyone is lining up to pay $900K for these and more or less laughed at my offer. No thanks; the 2 motors re probably worth $400K so they cannot be worth much more than that. That's the issue, you are 1 servo, 1 probe or 1 windshield away from having something you literally cannot fly until you find a part that is possibly impossible to obtain.

I got laughed at for buying an "unsupported" cheap Eclipse a few years ago. Here we are a few years later and they are all unsupported, even the "new" ones. I take no pride in that and hope there's a stable solution in the future for these guys. No ones wants to see expensive asset unusable or decline precipitously in value.

One thing to keep in mind about Eclipse engines is that they aren’t used on any other airplane. Thus, the only prospect for a used Eclipse engine is another Eclipse owner. Not sure how that will affect engine values.

In the real world parts are available and planes are being supported and warranty and maintenance programs are still in effect. The biggest rub is the time to get some parts but that seems to be getting better.

I am taking my plane to Boca on Monday for service and the costs will be covered by Eclipse

No. I read the probe, and similar, issues on EJOPA.
