So if you decided, for whatever reason, that you were going to sell your bonanza and buy a single engine cross country IFR experimental plane, what would you look at?

RV (a -6 or -7 for a 2-place, or a -10 for 4-place)

Lots of them around, easy to work on, a reasonable re-sale market, a great support company and online forum community...

Air conditioned Saratoga, P210, or if budget allowed...a Malibu.

I’m not a big believer in the experimental category for serious cross country travel, but I’d check out the Epic LT.

RV-9 is on my mind. When my T-Lance sells, I will get more serious about it.

What about a Sea Rey?

If it HAS to be an experimental, RV-10. If it doesn't, Cardinal, Navion or Lance.
My hangar neighbor has a high-wing composite experimental with the Titan 180HP engine. Can't think of the name but he's thrilled with it and I'd probably fly one to check it out also.

I think about this a lot.
For me it might be an IAR-823.

It wouldn't be experimental. I would be looking at a 210 or T210. Need more room than a Cirrus. Want front-facing seats.

If it had to be experimental, RV10 comes to mind. I don't want to push the envelope with the really fast experimentals... the reputation is that they are unforgiving:
*) Lancair IV-P
*) Glasair III (I know two guys that had nosegear come apart on landing)
*) Questair Venture
*) etc.

It would be the Glastar kit sitting in my garage and basement which I have yet to finish. Retirement in May 2020 should allow that project to move along a little faster.

Lancair IV-P or, even better, a IV-P Turbine. I have a high risk tolerance :)

More money?

Maybe not, i would probably spend it on something else.

It would be hard to choose another plane.
